Hello. Posted a few threads on the 2012 190 and 210 Montauk over the last few days. I'm more and more leaning towards the 210 now. I checked out the boat this morning and probably would have the T-top installed (vs. bimini). After I [went] to the boat dealer, I checked out one of the local marinas for dry storage. Given my preference to get the boat with T-top, I may end up with an overheight charge if total height of boat is 10 feet or higher. The boat dealer didn't have the information about the total height available. [What is the] total height for the 2012 210 Mountauk with T-top? Thanks,
Tom

On the trailer? It's probably JUST under 10 feet if your all-around white light on the top folds and you don't have a radar mast up there.

My 18' Outrage with Radar Arch...on the trailer, was just over 10' tall...but with the fixed all-around white light on the arch, it clipped the 11' door...first day. I ended up installing a different/shorter all-around white light mast.

It will also depend on your trailer - how high the boat sits on it, what size wheels, etc.

Try to measure the boat to the gunwale on a standard trailer (at the dealership showroom)...then go up 5 or 6 feet from the gunwales for your total T-Top height.

Buckda:

Thanks for the prompt reply...

No, I'm referring to dry-storage (forklift drivers will pick it up and boat it onto a rack in dry-storage). So, I'd like to find out the total height of the boat (not including the trailer).

Also, I'm referring to the T-top. See image

Roger on the dry rack storage.

I know you were talking about a T-Top, however, an Arch and T-Top are generally similar in height (above your head)...

I have a 210 Montalk, but it is wet slipped and might be hard for me to measure, but I will try next weekend.

If I can make a suggestion, there is not much shade with the t top. My previous boat, a 150 Montalk, had the bimini top, and that was perfect. On my new boat, the passengers will stand close to the console and obstruct my vision.

Bridge clearance with T top = 7'11"
draft motor up = 12.5"
Height not on trailer ~ 9'

Have you checked Boston Whaler's on-line site? If the owner's manual is posted for download or viewing it will probably include the dimensions from the waterline to the top of the T-top as bridge clearance. That plus draft should provide a pretty accurate keel to top of T-top dimension.

Do they measure the height on a set of stands for the hull, or do they measure it from the keel to the top of the T-Top?

If they measure it on stands it will be pretty similar to the height on a trailer.

My 22 with a radar arch and a radar dome on it would be pretty close to 10' measure from the keel to the top of the dome.

This discussion is specific to the Boston Whaler 210 MONTAUK and has been moved to POST-CLASSIC. Please use the POST-CLASSIC discussion area to discuss Boston Whaler boats that were first made or designed after c.1990.

Bridge Clearance = the height of the tallest portion of the boat measured from the waterline.

Draft = the depth of the deepest portion of the hull measured from the waterline.

If Bridge Clearance and Draft were added, you would have a measurement of the distance from the deepest part of the hull to the tallest portion of the boat.

According to Boston Whaler, the height (to accommodate dry-storage) is: 8ft 11in (antenna folded down and anchor light removed).

Thanks,
Tom

ToeCutter66: Appreciate the feedback on the shade.

Mostly, I'll be by myself so hopefully it'll provide enough for the "Captain".

I checked out the bimini top and (to me) does not look as sturdy. Not saying it isn't... just personal observation.
