Hi all--I recently purchased a 2009 200 Dauntless, and I'm trying to figure out how to access the Courtesy Light on the center console above the foot well. As far as I can tell, the switch isn't turning any lights on. Can I check the bulb by removing the kill switch panel? Thanks, NYB |

I recommend you check any fuse or circuit breaker between the switch and light before removing any panel. I don't know how difficult it is to access the courtesy light but if the fuse/circuit breaker is good it is likely the bulb is defective or the bulb and socket may have corrosion which needs to be cleaned off. A defective switch is possible but I believe less likely than the other possibilities. Butch |

Check out this [Boston Whaler mechanical assembly drawing (in several pages)] for the console sub-assembly of the 200 Dauntless. It is either page 2 or 3 that shows the wiring of the courtesy light. In my experience, check the switch first--don't ask! Make certain the connections are tight by removing and re-inserting the spade connector. If this does not fix it, move onto the bulb.--Robert |

NYB, Consider posting your query in the "Small Boat Electrical" forum on this site. That will probably produce a few more replies. Butch |

Thanks Guys, I did see #61 and have checked breakers from the schematic but no luck. Thanks for posting that link. I imagine it's not that difficult to pull out the kill cord panel. Just have to do it. New boat, learning the new systems. Thanks again.

Hello there jdeus--are you the same person as NYB? You write like you and NYB are the same person. I just spent a lot of time looking up the password for NYB and emailing it to him, and now you seem like you and NYB are the same person. Can that be? Did you register with a new identity already? What is going on? |

Hi Jim- Yep. Couldn't get one of the passwords to work so I started another user ID. Thanks for your help. |
