I would appreciate help with a whaler purchase. I have had a 20 foot revenge for 16 years – used exclusively for great lakes scuba diving. It’s time to upgrade and a few more feet would be nice. I’m trying to decide between a 23 Conquest with kicker or 25 Conquest twin engines (2002 to 2006) Boat is for day use only – no staying on it. Most dive sites involve trailering the boat 75 to 400 miles – so many miles are put on the trailer. Is there a big difference between towing a 23 vs. 25? Any other considerations would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you get no responses here to your question you might try the GAM area which gets much more traffic.

You may have some permit issues to deal with when towing the 25. I believe it has a 9' beam versus 8.5' on the 23. Most states do not require an annual towing permit if the beam is 8.5' or less. Just something to look into with your state DOT laws. Also, there is a large weight difference between the two sizes which means more effort required for loading/unloading, towing, etc. Food for thought,
