Topic:   RPS leaning post conversion

posted 09-01-2013 07:30 PM ET (US)         Has anyone successfully attempted a conversion of an RPS into a leaning post? I have a 2005 180 Dauntless with the standard RPS. I like the storage that it provides me (I removed the live well from the base), but do not find the seat back to be a suitable leaning post, and i never operate the boat while sitting down. I am curious if anyone has removed the seat back and had a leaning post fabricated that mounts to the existing base unit? It would keep the boat looking somewhat original, would allow me to keep the base with its storage, but could improve operator comfort. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
