The American Steamship Company's Buffalo works her way south past Peche Isle Range Light and into the Upper Detroit River. Ice has frozen over the shallow Scott Middle Ground to the west of Belle Isle. The ugly Medusa Cement silos and the classic Stroh River Place building-- formerly the Park Davis Co. plant--occupy a snow covered shoreline.
