I think the OP has referred to the "bow eye" as the "towing bow eye" as an oversight.

The archives do not have the location for the 15 Sport model.

After some research, the location of the Boston Whaler decal is 3-inches below the underside of the gunwale lip and 11-inches forward of the edge of the transom.

The engine is at the proper height. One hole up. You don't want any more of the leg of the engine in the water than necessary. The engine is attached with the bolts. [The remedy to this electrical problem] is not a whaler parts thing, I would check the wiring connections at the pump and the float switch. Then again, given the age, I would just replace the pump and install a seperate float. All in ones require both components to be replaced when one fails. Stupid...

There are mooring covers and there are covers for towing.

Some mooring covers can be used while towing. Some can't.

Review all the specifications of the covers you're considering to avoid a costly mistake.

A--your news in good news. A Ventura 210 is a great model for Portland and Casco Bay-- a great hull for the slop and snotty conditions.

I will be in Portland next week for a week to visit family and friends and hope to be out on the water.

Given the last two years, I would not expect a quick turn-around. Yards are busier than normal with staff shortages and many short tempers.

It could be a few days, it could be a few weeks. Maybe longer.

You may find better service and turnaround with an independent shop that services Opti's

Do the math on how much extra weight with 4 strokes.

Use bags of sand, concrete mix, water etc and place the added weight to simulate the new engines in the transom and test the boat and how it handles.

The cost of a replacement bulb is only a few dollars at best, less online. They last a a decade or longer.

The cost of an LED bulb with the necessary resistor are up to $15. Not a cost effective modification.

I take my old bulbs to the chandlery and find a replacement.

That year and model takes 25" shafts for twins and 30" shaft for a single.

The factory uses SikaFlex 291 because it has a fast cure.

1 a) I would use Life Seal (not Caulk) as it bonds with plastics.

The hole should be sealed with Life Caulk. Life Seal should go on the transom interior and exterior wall faces.

1b) The two parts of the tube are press fit.

2) Sound plan.

The installation of a Seakeeper on a Boston Whaler after production has not been done as far as I know.

I would not attempt such a significant and expensive modification to a Conquest 28 and rather invest in a different boat.

You are going to get A LOT of pushback on this.

Wrecking a classic low-volume model in decent shape is never going to win you friends.

Finding OEM parts in this market period is really hard, takes a lot of work and luck. Also buckets of money.

I suppose you can add a bead of sealant, not adhesive, under the lip of the rod holder. That will keep it from moving.

I would use Life Caulk. For a close color match, OSI Quad #450.
