Re: Restoring c.1963 13-footer
Congratulations on the restoration. The 20 images of your boat have made it now the most photographically documented restored 13-footer in the history of this forum. Well, that's quite a distinction. If anyone is interested in any more photos, I have a ton. Now, onto the next one. Have my eye on a ...

Older 13-footer: splash well drain
Hello all. I have a [1963] SPORT 13, with the transom cut for a short-shaft engine. There is a splash well. There is a drain hole in the transom and a drain hole in the splash well, cockpit side. When the SPORT 13 comes off of plane, a slug of water sloshes over the transom and into the splash well....

What are you doing for nonstick on the deck?
The non skid on the floor has been painted with a roller. Came out great, nice and even. Used paint from Jamestown Dist. "Total Boat Wet Edge". Good stuff.

Got the new rub rail on this morning. Not the correct color for the year, but I like the contrast.

Re: Restoring c.1963 13-footer
Looks great! What products are you using for the paint? Are you spraying or roll-tipping? I am using Total Boat WetEdge from Jamestown Dist. Gloss white on the outside, and Whaler Blue on the inside. Sanded the outside down to 120 grit and rolled and tipped. It looks great...... from a distance, --...

Went to the Bahamas for a week. Got home Saturday, and off the trailer she came. Bottom done. She'll sit like this till Saturday and then go back on the trailer. Then its on to the interior.

Restoring c.1963 13-footer
I have been wanting a Boston Whaler since I was 12-years-old. I picked up this gem on the fourth of July. It's only two years younger than me, but probably in a little better shape. I thought I'd post some pictures as it progresses. Love this website, very glad to have found it. After many hours wit...

Re: 1979 13' Renovation
Thats interesting. My girls do love the water, but have always stayed in the boat till we were docked. Of course, it's a bigger boat than the Whaler. Now after the drive to the marina has been another story. As soon as I open the car door, they beeline for the dock. I fully can relate to the "s...

akwalker--I love your dogs and your boat. You'll have trouble keeping them in the boat when on the water. Good luck with the restore. wcollins41-- I like what you did. How did you determine where to put the center console in regard to fore and aft? Some might not like what you did but she is very u...

Re: New owner, old boat
Thanks again. So, more confusion. The only number I can find on the boat is the stenciled number in the anchor hatch, "8778". I went to NY DMV to register the boat with the registration the previous owner gave me. According to the clerk at the DMV, the HIN is DP477867. This was the number ...

New owner, old boat
Hello to the forum. I just picked up what is supposedly a 1961 13-footer. The stencil number is 8778, and is located in the forward anchor locker. I'm planning on restoring the boat. Just wondering if anyone knew how to reference the stencil number and confirm the year. Any info I've found doesn't r...
