It would not seem possible. stick with the saddle tanks. I believe they are 18 gallons each. I also often carried a 6 gallon portable which easily stowed under the stern sear. given all the problems reported with the under-deck tanks, i was always glad i had the saddle tanks instead.

Towing Boat With Cushions in Cockpit

When towing a boat at highway speeds, will the boat cushions remain in the boat?

I have a 1988 Super Sport 15. I just installed the Anderson Seat bottom cushions. Is it safe to tow at highway speeds with these snapped in place or am I taking too much chance of them flying away? Thank you.

Another advantage of having the motor higher up is that you can then clear the well edges for replacing the steering cable. You should be able replace the cable by loosening the mounting bolts for the engine and forcing the motor to lean forward to get the extra clearance you need.

The major negative factor in our maximum boat speed is that we currently run the large, 'high - thrust' gear case. In our usage this was a tradeoff worth making. A prior engine with the small gearcase reached about 34mph max speed.

I believe you will see a performance difference, as that Yamaha 40 already used the new power rating standards. I believe you can just disconnect the entire charging rectifier and regulator, leaving the tach connected. If that solves [the problem with the tachometer error] you might just need to replace [the rectifier and regulator], much easier and usually cheaper.

The newer hulls with sharper entry should be fine.

ASIDE: We used to keep our [c.1970] 21 Outrage in Narragansett Bay. That hull has a [rounded bottom]. It could get a little bouncy, especially on weekends with the larger powerboats putting up some ferocious wakes.

The classic 13-foot hull is more stable than the classic 15-door hull. The classic 16/17-hullis even more stable, but substantially larger.

i've had them all. I currently work with all three at our sailing club. For your purposes the 13 is probably quite suitable.

everything was through bolted. the pulleys where held by small 'eye straps' that were through bolted. (long skinny stainless steel bolts) at

If it is at all like the 5.2, leave them open. the boat is designed to float above the bailers (so that it is self-rescuing) and so keep them open so rain water just flows out--will be easy to test.

Modern outboards are very reliable.

Most my early troubles were with fuel. A RACOR fuel-water separating filter is a must if your new boat doesn't already have one.
