Re: APPRAISAL: 1988 17 SS
This boat is sea trialed, runs great but may have a propeller defect and an altitude adjustment. The Evinrude engine is mint condition and runs like a champ. Maybe a reevaluation with better pictures and explanation. Your time is appreciated.

Source for 54C OMC Carburetor High-speed Orifice
I have a 1988 Johnson 90-HP V4 model J90TLCCA. Due to my living [and boating] at 7,200-feet elevation, an upgrade was recommended to change the carburetor high-speed jet to 54C from 56C. I can not seem to locate a 54C. Give me advice where to buy a 54C high-speed jet for the J90TLCCA engine. Thank y...

1988 Johnson 90 V4 VRO Broken Tube on Fixture
B0C36787-1531-492B-823F-AE16AEE20E15.jpeg In the process of cleaning the carburetors on my J90TLCCA, I found a broken tube coming out of the fixture seen above in Figure 1. I have researched everywhere and can not find out what type of fixture this is. Q1: Is [the fixture] just a vent? Q2: Should t...

Re: Johnson 90-HP V4 Lugging
I am waiting for several new lines. The line from the onboard fuel tank to the filter (bottom left) does not have a pump bulb. The bulb is only on the line from filter to engine and another on the oil line. tiny.jpeg Q; Is this setup correct? [Inferred question: what is the proper location for the f...

Re: Johnson 90-HP V4 Lugging
Changed the fuel filters, did notice the fuel hose snapped to engine has a leak going to replace the head of fuel line. Checked the spark plug QL77JC4 @ 0.030" and spark. Onboard installed fuel tank does not have a vent screw. Will research how to check the spark coil and power pack. Running th...

Re: Identify Engine Accessory from Photo; Finding Owner's Manual for 30-year-old outboard engines
That engine steering accessory shown as identified by jimh is still made by the EZ Steer Company, formerly of Washington State, now owned by Marine Tech Products in MN. I have an original owners manual for a early 1990's Johnson 90 HP V4 outboard. Should be the same as your 1988. ( Maybe the OMC Jo...

I want to revitalize my 17-foot Boston Whaler boat that I just purchased. This 1988 boat has not been on the water in 10 years, but was covered and is in great shape. Re: How to get manual for 1988 OMC engine
Thank you for your prompt response. There is a 6hp Evinrude next to it with the exact same device. Very interesting.
Do you have a recommendation how to get a manual for a 1988 Johnson 90-HP?
