The through-hull fittings shouldn’t turn. With a [2023 boat that is so recently made] you should take the boat to a Boston Whaler dealer for inspection under warranty. I have a 2018 190 Montauk. I always leave the anchor locker drain open. The fish box will be plugged if people are riding in the bow.

I went with a single axle [trailer] for my 190 MONTAUK because it was less cost and less to maintain. If California law requires dual-axles trailers for loads over 3,100-lbs then that’s likely what you need.

I estimate 3,500-lbs towing weight.

In my experience the SUPER SPORT models never really sit level at rest. With the battery and helm on the starboard side that might be causing the list.

I have a 150 Super Sport with the same drain system. My advice: do not install a sump, but instead get a manual bilge pump and remove the water after putting in the drain plug and boarding.

I have the same boat. The 150 SUPER SPORT is definitely sensitive to trim, and once on plane the engine must be trimmed up to increase boat speed.

Jimh has a good point about engine hours not being equal to car miles. I’ll add that the saltwater environment is harsh on engines and that only increases with age. Your budget should get you into a boat you like with a engine re-power. An 2000 to 2005 hull with a recent engine would be a nice setup.

The 270 VANTGE has a 9-foot beam , which might be too wide [for towing without a special permit] depending on the state involved.

A dual-axle trailer with brakes will weigh roughly 1,000-lbs.

I do not recommend towing a 240 Vantage for three hours with a Toyota Tacoma.
