Re: Mercury 20-HP FOURSTROKE Stalls
The exhaust port is taking in water and stalling the motor. The dealer didn't know [how to solve the problem]. I called Mercury; they didn't know what the problem was. They said it is the dealer's problem to solve. I called Tohutsu for advise and they identified the problem on the phone. I've called...

Mercury 20-HP FOURSTROKE Stalls
I have a 1968 13 Sport that always had a 40-HP two-stroke-power-cycle outboard engine with short shaft. I installed a new Mercury 20-HP FOURSTROKE short-shaft engine with power trim and a new steering system. I am no longer tubing and felt the 20-HP would be fast enough and give me great fuel consum...

Mechanical Cable Steering on Older 13-footer
I'm repowering [a 1968 Boston Whaler 13-foot boat] with a new 20-Hp short shaft outboard with power tilt, remote steering, and electric starting. I have heard horror stories that some had to cut a notch in the stern to fit the new steering cables. Is there an outboard that works better on installs f...

13-footer Re-power with 20-HP
I have a 1968 Boston Whaler SPORT 13 to re-power. It currently has an old 40-HP engine. To save money on a new outboard and the fuel it will use, I was thinking of purchasing a 20-HP engine. [What is the] top speed [of a SPORT 13] with 20-HP? Thanks.
