170 MONTAUK: Source for Front Accessory Panel Material
I need to replace the front accessory electrical panel on my 170 MONTAUK in order to install a new 24V connector that is too large to mount on the OEM panel. See Figure 1 below with original 12V plug: panel.jpeg Give me advice about the correct material for the panel and for a supplier of the materi...

Methods to Adhere KING StarBoard to Thin-wall Laminated Surfaces
Q1: Does flaming KING StarBoard allow it to be attached [using adhesives] to [thin-wall laminated] fiberglass [surfaces] with a moderate load? Q2: Will it be necessary to adhere stud bolts into the [thin-wall laminated] fiberglass for mounting KING StarBoard? Q3: if 3M5200 is used, will encapsulated...

170 Montauk 12-Volt Trolling Motor
Planning to install a trolling motor on my 2018 170 Montauk for inshore fishing in south Louisiana. My boat is prewired from the factory for a 12-Volt setup, but I’m a little concerned [a 12-Volt motor] might not provide enough thrust for the boat. I have a 12-Volt Minn-Kota Riptide Terrova motor wi...

Re: Fair Price for 2018 170 Montauk
Biggiefl - The price for the 2019 was a little over $42,000. I don’t remember the exact price after being shocked by the comment that they could not sell it to me. Plus, I expected the price to be closer to $39,000 to $40,000 based off a local dealer’s 2019 17 Dauntless.

Re: Fair Price for 2018 170 Montauk
Jefecinco - your comment regarding territories is interesting, I called an out of state dealer today regarding the 2019 listing below and the sales person asked where I was calling from, then he informed me that I needed to work thru my local dealer to purchase the boat and there would be additional...

Re: Fair Price for 2018 170 Montauk
Thanks for all the feedback so far.
This 170 MONTAUK boat is offered by a private seller. The boat is in excellent condition, and the engine has 50 hours.
The model is the [170] Montauk II 60th anniversary edition—a boat with great looks but very expensive.

Fair Price for 2018 170 Montauk
I’m looking at a used 2018 Montauk 170. I am a little shocked by the $38,000 asking price. I know prices on Boston Whaler boats have been rising, but I didn’t realize the magnitude. The boat is well equipped and the MSRP for an equivalent 2020 model is $44,500. This makes the 2018 only 15% below MSR...
