I used strapping from ratchet straps over the seat and then screwed through the cut strap into the plastic of the freezer chest. Works well.

Thanks. I tried one of the new struts, and they are not quite the same as the original struts. The connection is the problem. I was hoping to buy the original struts if the company was still around.

I am looking for the original manufacturer for the gas struts that hold the gull wing doors open. I have linked to some pictures for reference. I found a barn find 1967 Memensha that was barely used as evidenced by the keel wear and the diamond texture wear on the deck. It has been sitting outside for a long time.
