Re: Protect Deck from On-deck Fuel Tank
Thanks [for suggesting the use of Dri-Dek to protect the fiberglass deck from abrasion by a polyethylene fuel tank]. I didn’t think of using Dri-Dek.

Protect Deck from On-deck Fuel Tank
Can a Moeller 14-gallon or 15-gallon topside fuel tank sit directly on a fiberglass deck?
Or, should something be placed under the fuel tank to protect the fiberglass deck?

Re: Fixing Bad Crazing
Putting paint over crazing won't fix the unlying problem. Using high-build primers may minimize the visual appearance, but over time the crazing will come through the paint. There is no quick fix. I know. I plan to spend plenty of time grinding and filling. Q3: Once [the preparation and painting ar...

Got it.
I read all your posts about doing [refurbishing your 15-footer]. I internally curse you as [your posts about refurbishing your 15-footer] pushed me to[buy and try to restore ] a 15-footer, myself.
Q2: Has any [gel coat ] crazing [reappeared] on your 15-footer since its refurbishment?

Fixing Bad Crazing
My 1983 15 Center Console boat interior has bad crazing throughout. Q1: can media-blasting be used to remove all the gel coat and new gel coat resin be applied in the interior? While the upfront costs would be higher, the labor costs should be lower. I fear that, if I bring out each one then once I’...

Re: 1983 CENTER CONSOLE 15 with 60-HP
I spent the summer on a boat with two new Mercury engines. I was very impressed with the engines. With engine shortages the way they are, I figured having a second option to the F70 in both price and availability wouldn’t hurt.jimh wrote:Why not get the F70 engine you mentioned as your initial choice?

Re: Center Console 15 Rigging Tunnel Cover
I bought the Center Console 15 boat. BACKSTORY ON PURCHASED BOAT. The seller got the boat when he bought a house, and the Center Console 15 was in a garage on the property. 15-footer: Rerouting Anchor Locker Drain
Pictures of a heavily redone 15-footer (posted online somewhere unspecified) show the drain for the forward anchor locker draining out onto the [cockpit deck] like a 13-footer. I assume that 15-foot hull was modified by closing in the original drain tube. Has [a closing of the through-hull drain tha...

I am buying 1989 15-footer under a purchase agreement pending inspection. Re: Converting a 15 Center Console to Super Sport
I agree. I am starting to like the idea of the center console. A little easier to fit my six-foot-five-inch frame, and the center console console is more conducive to two multi-function displays with a battery underneath--plus the rigging tunnel.

Converting a 15 Center Console to Super Sport
I’m in the market for a 15 project that I was going to make into a modified a Super Sport. I’ve however come across a Center Console version. I’m assuming I could still do this since I was planning on replacing all the wood anyways. Only difference I see in the hull is that there’s a tunnel from the...
