Re: Boat Insurance Premium Increase

I’ve been in the Insurance industry for 30 years and I can tell you what’s driving the rate increases you’re seeing is likely the supply chain delays and shortages we have now. These problems have resulted in much higher repair and replace costs.

Re: Mounting Bimini Top on Classic 15-footer

Greatly appreciate you sharing this info with me. Am I correct that your Bimini rests flat when it is not being used? From the photo you shared, that’s what I’m picturing and what I am after. TFrere:

What brand bimini did you purchase?

What was the source for those [rail mounted Bimini frame hinge fittings]?

Re: Mounting Bimini Top on Classic 15-footer

I’d prefer to rail mount the Bimini top.

Will a rail-mounted Bimini top lay flat and fit under a mooring cover?

Mounting Bimini Top on Classic 15-footer

I may buy a Bimini top. I may mount the frame to the railings instead of to the gunwales to avoid putting extra holes in the boat. Q1: On a 15-footer will a Bimini top be able lay flat when not in use if the frame is mounted to the railings? Q2: ON a 15-footer will a Bimini top lay flat so a mooring...

Re: Mercury 60 HP on 15’ Whaler

I have a 1980 15-footer. With a new Mercury 40-HP [FOURSTROKE] with standard aluminum three-bladed propeller the top boat speed is 30-MPH

I anticipate [a 1982 CENTER CONSOLE 16] with 60-HP should accelerate to 40 to 42-MPH.

Re: SUPER SPORT 15 with Yamaha F70: Pull Water Skier

I have a 1980 15-footer with Mercury 40-HP engine. That boat and engine can pull a skier with short skis without a problem. With a 70-HP engine [to pull a water skier] will be no problem.

Re: 15-footer: Rerouting Anchor Locker Drain

As the owner of a 1980 15’, I’ve often pondered this as well. Hopefully we’ve got some owners that have done this and can share how it worked out.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. That is not a Boston Whaler.
