Re: 9 Tender Cover Project

Hi Jim, thank you for your comments. It was far from my first canvas sewing project with the LSZ-1 but my first complete scratch fabrication project. I purchased the Sunbrella through Sailrite, I also often buy locally in Maryland from JoAnn Fabric or a few smaller retailers. Cost per yard was $32.9...

Re: Repower 2001 130 Super Sport

I’ll have to agree with Phil about increasing the horsepower [when repowering a 2001 130 SUPER SPORT that has a 40-HP engine]. In the summer of 2021 a relative repowered a SUPER SPORT 13 with a Yamaha F30 from the original Mercury 40-HP two-stroke power-cycle engine because that was all that could b...

Re: Trailer: Conversion to Torsion Spring Axle from Leaf Spring Axle

I have not converted any of my trailers from leaf spring to torsion, however, I did purchased a new trailer for my 13 Dauntless in 2021 and opted for a torsion axle. The difference in ride quality over my old leaf-spring trailer for that boat is night and day; the torsion axle ride is quieter and sm...

Re: 9 Tender Cover Project

Hi D, Thanks for your comments! The Sailrite LSZ-1 is a walking foot machine and has been a tremendous companion. I've had the machine for about 14 years, purchased in college when I too was doing canvas work although I just did repairs (restitching, replacing zippers, replacing glass, etc.) not any...

9 Tender Cover Project

Readers may enjoy seeing my first boat cover project for my 9 Tender. I used [Pacific Blue] Sunbrella cloth. I assembled the cover with my Sailrite LSZ-1 sewing machine. My success on this project may inspire others to take on similar work I still need to figure out how I want to hem around the moto...

Re: 9 TENDER Wood Locating Diagram

Heard back from Ryan at Boston Whaler Customer Service and he was not able to come up with a Wood Diagram. However, Sue Lodel at Beacon Marine was able to locate one called Wood Locations for Lifting Hardware! It is attached (I think) to this post, feel free to add to the database.

Re: 9 TENDER Wood Locating Diagram

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! I called Whaler this morning and spoke with Ryan in customer service. He said records prior to 1994+/- are hit or miss but he is going to dig through and see what he can turn up. I will report back. Thank you again!

9 TENDER Wood Locating Diagram

Where can a wood locating diagram for a 9 TENDER be found on-line? BACKSTORY: In December 2021 I bought a 1990 9 TENDER as a winter project. This 9 TENDER lived on the hardtop of a boat all of its life and saw little time in the water. It was left uncovered so the interior gel coat is showing signif...
