You can always pull the snaps, put some silicon sealant or 3M4200 Adhesive on the screw portion and reinstall the snap fasteners.
If the finish of the snaps is compromised by corrosion, replace them with new. Old crusty snaps just aren't worth the aggravation.

I tend to agree with JimH on this subject. I suspect your vented gas cap only vents into the tank (and not out) as prescribed by the various and numerous idiots in Washington DC. The gas cap came from a vendor and that vendor has the specs. There you will most likely find that the vent is a one way....

The rubber (plastic cords) you describe are hard to find. I replace mine with standard bungee material at most of the better boating stores. My guess is that the pump in question can either be raw water or fresh and has a pressure activated cut off in the pump. A sprayer nozzle or faucet is usually what stops the water flow and creates pressure. Since there is no water, there is no pressure to stop the pump. My raw water washdown pump op...

Lucky for you the internal part of the scupper is still there in the hull. I would only be worried about where the fitting goes thru the hull for any water intrusion. Maybe put some silicone seal around the joint for a temprorary repair (good sealant, easy to remove later).

I completed the last of the Kevlok battery strap assemblies this weekend. I have 13 straps made up and wanted to let everyone know before they go on Ebay next week. I will maintain the original pricing ($35.00 ea.) for members of CW but they will be more on Ebay because of the fees, and other hassles.

I had oars for our 11' tender cuz it was for floods around the house and the engine was too deep for the water. Had to row 150' and it sucked. When the oars rotted out they went into the burn pile. Rowing an 11' Whaler is a pain in the ass.

That picture of the clogged filter looks to me like the kind of varnish you get with Ethanol mixed fuel sometimes. Not sure but looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. Glad you got to the bottom of it. Fuel starvation is a really bad thing to have.

The impeller will be a Mercury product. That series of engines the powerhead only was Yamaha. The middle section and lower unit are pure Mercury. If you need an oil filter, buy a Yamaha oil filter for about $10 less than Mercury charges. Impellers are going to come from Mercury though
