Re: 1998 Outrage 17 II with Yamaha F150XCA
I did not consult with Lenco about the location [of the trim tabs]. The location was chosen mainly so that it doesn't interfere with trailer [bunks] on both sides.

Re: 1998 Outrage 17 II with Yamaha F150XCA
The propeller is the Yamaha Reliance SDS 14 1/4 x 17 (part number 68F-45972-20-00). When I brought my boat to the shop, I did mention [that I wanted the engine to be mounted in the two-holes-up position] but the technician said [mounting the engine at two-holes up] would be too high. With this outbo...

Re: 1998 Outrage 17 II with Yamaha F150XCA
Re the current engine and its boat speed: Using your stated performance with the present 115-HP engine as producing 38-MPH speed, I can infer the total hull weight was only 2,580-lbs (using 180 as the hull coefficient). Changing to 150-HP and adding maybe 120-lbs for the bigger engine gives 2,700-l...

Thanks Jim, A1. The gear ratio of the F150XCA engine is 2:1 A2. The recommended optimum engine speed range at full throttle for the F150XCA engine is 5500-6000 A3: My calculated estimate of total boat weight for normal operation: 3,100 lb to 3,450 lb Dryhull (1700) + Motor+Control + small kicker(485...

FNO--thank you. I really do NOT want to drill holes in my [OUTRAGE 17 II] boat. I may use 1-inch [thick] KING StarBoard to mount the trim tabs. I may adhere the KING StarBoard using [3M5200 adhesive-sealant] to the transom, and mount the trim tabs [to the KING StarBoard in some undescribed manner]. ...

Re: 1996 17 Outrage II Re-power
At static trim, this can be overcome by adding weight in the bow to try to raise the stern, but this approach is only useful when the boat will not be underway. You would never intentionally add weight to the bow when the boat was being operated. Also the added weight will also reduce acceleration ...

Thank you very much Jim for explaining how the fuel in different system works. Yes strainer not "trainer." The "silencer" is the fuel-air inlet manifold. The only part I need now is the Yamaha in-line fuel filter part # 6C5-24251-01-00 Also on my boat, there is a fuel-water separ...

Recently I bought a used 1998 Outrage 17 II powered by a 2005 Mercury 115 FOURSTROKE (with a Yamaha power head) said to have 260-hours run time. Re: Trailer Adjustments to Reduce Overall Length
So far, I like the " shorten the tongue beam". I am worried that it will add more tongue weight, but like Jim said, all the 3 axle weight need to be checked first.

Re: Trailer Adjustments to Reduce Overall Length
Thanks Jim,
The trailer is constructed with most aluminum, but the tongue beam, and the winch post are steel.
The axle is mounted by 2 bolts on the outside of frame on each side, so i guess the axle can be moved but new holes for the bolts will be needed.
