2018 Boston Whaler brochure
Just got the 2018 Boston Whaler brochure. Beautiful and VERY well done. 60th Anniversary theme. The cover is the classic picture of founder Dick Fisher in an original 13 Boston Whaler with Evinrude outboard going up a river. Interesting that the Evinrude name is air brushed off the motor in the pict...

The 1993 and 1994 Boston Whaler brochures have a picture of a Montauk optional stern seat. You might contact Boston Whaler and see if prints are available for that unit. Specialty Marine sells a stern seat for a classic Montauk also. We've had 2 of those over the years in different year Montauks - t...

Stern weight is a problem, especially with your Yamaha F75 a 366-lbs. Consider the Honda 2.3-HP long-shaft mounted right on the transom. It only weighs 31-lbs. [NOTA BENE: the preferred abbreviation for weight in avoirdupois pounds in the forum is "lbs"; do not use the octothorpe or number...

Now that Volvo Penta has agreed to become majority owner of large-outboard maker Seven Marine, I wonder if Boston Whaler may be a customer. Seven Marine's 557-HP and 627-HP V8 outboards may be a good option on some of the larger Boston Whaler boats. Using these V8 engines would mean lower total weig...

Pretty normal in an older 2-stroke to have black drips near prop. Usually a mixture of exhaust and unburned gas/oil mix. Just put a paper towel on your garage floor under prop.

You need to ask yourself "Is it worth it?". That hull is in very poor condition. What is the interior like? Does the boat have sentimental value or family history? You may be better off [in terms of] time and money with another boat that has been taken care of and doesn't need as much work.
