I assume [the acronym you used] is an abbreviation for Verado. A 250-HP Verado should be sufficient power for the activities you listed. I once had a MUCH heavier 240 SeaRay with 260-HP stern drive and the power was just fine for that boat.

I completely agree that no Montauk is a great choice for boating in rough conditions. Although the boat will tolerate a lot of abuse our bodies will not. I think it's fair to say no recreational Boston Whaler is a very suitable boat in rough conditions.

I believe it's much more likely Wahoo used the Montauk design for its copy than that Boston Whaler copied a Wahoo design.

That listing for a 14 foot Rage with a 240 HP engine is a little outrageous. I'm not surprised it has failed to sell for a couple of years. I don't think the price is too out of line if the boat is sound and the engine conversion was done properly.

I would add a voltmeter. It's nice to know your battery condition as well as the charging voltage. A tachometer is a useful tool for dialing-in engine trim and for determining your best propeller and mounting height options.

I don't believe the tubes can be repaired with an adhesive or sealant. When the tubes become unserviceable it's time to do the job properly. It may be possible to do the job without removing the engine and jackplate by using Marelon fittings and a good caulk. I would not use 3M 5200 adhesive. It wou...

Today we finally were out on the water again and gave theDragonfly-4 Pro a good workout. It performed flawlessly in every mode. GPS position accuracy was superb. I also particularly liked the Downscan mode.
