I use a rail mount on my Sport 15 to hold a Shakespeare extension which has [an antenna with a] stainless steel whip attached.

Re: Electric-over-hydraulic Trailer Brakes
An additional advantage of electric-over-hydraulic brake actuators is trailer braking in reverse while backing down a ramp, plus the ability to back uphill. To comply in Florida I needed brakes on all axles. I wanted new components, but otherwise my trailer was fine, though I would have had to add b...

Re: Electric-over-hydraulic Trailer Brakes
I decided to do a total rebuild of my 1994 Owen and Sons triple axle trailer. The only remaining original part is the aluminum frame. The original configuration was surge drum brakes on two axles. Rebuilding was the way to go after pricing new triple axle trailers of 10,000-lbs-capacity. I purchased...

I use this charger for the breakaway battery on my trailer. It works well.

Different wiring harness between the two engines also. Does either come with controls and wiring?

Re: Holsclaw C-950 trailer
Wyoming appears to be one of the easiest states for residents to get this resolved. "Trailers weighing less than 1,000 pounds, such as small utility trailers and many boat trailers, not previously registered will require a title from a county clerk’s office before they can be registered at the ...

Re: Sport 15 Cockpit Sump Pump
I also use a pump in the sump well of my Sport 15. I use the Attwood Sahara S750 model #4507 which has a built in float and manual switch to test the pump. The float is housed in the strainer and the pump body lifts off for cleaning. Several seasons and no problems.

Re: LED Lightbulbs for Navigation Lighting
As Butch says we are never too old to learn new ideas. My neighbor builds things with LEDs and is always working on cooling problems and it is difficult to follow him sometimes. Cooling solutions for large stadium/billdoard screens must be difficult. He also makes a lot of flashlights that he says a...

Re: Offshore 27 Re-power with Twin Yamaha F300 4.2L
Loose Yamaha engines I purchased from Texas coming home on the trailer. When I arrived from my motel in the morning Chris and Kent had them already bolted onto the trailer I dropped off the previous evening. The engines and their warranty had to be transferred to me by a Yamaha dealer. I could insta...

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 3010C
The Garmin 42xx MFD (multi function display) does not have sonar ability until a blackbox (GSD-22/GSD-24) is used and connected to the Garmin marine network along with a transducer. So using it as just a standalone chartplotter is fine. You can add optional features later, fuel usage, sonar, radar, A...

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 3010C
I think that Garmin is a good choice, however I would skip the 3010c and look at the 42xx series of MFD. The 4210 is in your price range and later you can add the options you want. The charts are built in,and you only need a power cord and GPS antenna to be good to go. A lot of the used units for sa...

I will try to get up some pictures. I am probably the last person without a cellphone or camera. Lots of company this time of year in the Keys and someone will help out with photos I'm sure. The grandchildren want a stereo installed and hinted at a Christmas gift for the boat. I also have new radar,...

Re: Re-power with Electronic Remote Throttle and Shift
Electronic controls were installed along with my recent re-power. The Yamaha controls are very nice and have easily adjusted friction controls. I would not go back to cables. For your application since you have a choice to go electronic or not,it may be more about price. In a power matched system th...

Offshore 27 Re-power with Twin Yamaha F300 4.2L
This is a first report of a test run [of a Boston Whaer OFFSHORE 27] with my recent engine replacement [of twin Yamaha F300 4.2-liter engines], but not many details for now as this was more of a shakedown trip. The [Boston Whaler OFFSHORE 27] hull has two fresh coats of Micron 66 bottom paint, 243-g...

You can split the output of one panel between two batteries. Use two controllers or a dual controller. I see them on Amazon for $35 with free shipping.--Chuck
