There isn't a claim that the stern will be dry, just that once equilibrium is reached, any additional water will drain.

You will note that the subject boat is totally empty and not a good representative sample.

There is nothing wrong with a few inches of water sitting on the deck of the boat.

The key element I learned is not to move around in the boat quickly and change the balance of the boat. Once it starts to tip, it gains momentum and that can lead to shipping more water and possibly capsizing. In my case I did not loose power, fortunately I was able to turn into the wind and dewater.

There is no internal structural wood in any Boston Whaler boat except in the transom.

There are pieces of marine plywood in the hatches, tank covers, floor, and gunwalel caps to provide additional strength when attaching console, chairs, railings, cleats and other items.

No product applied is going to last a long time.

Tire dressing products are often recommended.

Some veteran members wipe the rub rail with acetone.

Personally, I don't use anything. It's a rubrail. If not damaged and worn, the boat hasn't been used.

All your ideas are worthy. Keep in mind parts add up. My current boat came on an old rusty trailer. When I priced all the parts to replace, it was half the price of a new trailer. I have seen decent dual-axle galvanized trailers without brakes on Craigslist for $1,000. Be patient and check often.
