Making small tables in text

Postby jimh » Thu Feb 18, 2016 1:48 pm

A small simple table can be made in text using the "monospace" and "pre" tags which are now available in the POST EDIT window. Here is a sample:

TABLE IN PREFORMATTED TEXT
MODEL PRICE POWER
100 $ 99 10-Watts
200 $149 20-Watts
500 $399 50-Watts

First, type out the table in a text editor using a monospaced font. Composition will be easier in a separate text editor than trying to compose in the forum editor, as the forum editor does not use a monospaced font. Adjust the alignment of the columns with just spaces--do NOT use tabs. When finished composing in your text editor, copy all the text to your clipboard.

Go to the forum. Open the message compose window. Paste your text into the message body window. Enclose the text in the "pre" tags. Then enclose that whole section in the "monospace" tags. Use the PREVIEW function to see how it turned out. Make adjustments and PREVIEW again to get it correct. Then hit the SUBMIT button.
