Maximum Image Size

The forum permits in-line images to be as large as 900 x 900 pixel. This is a generously large image and permits any object to be seen in great detail.

Forum participants that bemoan they cannot upload their images because their image was deemed "too large" should take note of the possibilities for showing details of a boat or related subject in an image of 900 x 900 pixels.

The file size of the image is also constrained to 250,000-kilobytes. A kilobyte is 1,024-bytes. Thus the file size is limited to 256-million-bytes. It seems preposterous to complain that a user's image was "too large" to be uploaded and hosted by the forum when the forum provides such a generous file hosting at no cost. That an image was taken with a camera that captures enormously large format images is not a birthright that engenders free hosting of such gigantic files nor inclusion of gigantic images into in-line HTML presentations where their size would disrupt the layout of the text and make reading difficult.
