Website Now Using Secure HTTPS Protocol

Postby jimh » Mon May 10, 2021 12:57 pm

The continuouswave.com website is now being served by with the HTTPS protocol. This assures users of the validity of the host you are connecting to.

My decision to incur the cost of this upgrade was influenced by the general trend in modern browsers to alert visitors to lack of HTTPS protocol on host websites.

In addition, the host server has been moved behind a new firewall to protect the website from hostile attacks and threats.

Thanks for sucking up that additional expense for our benefit. I believe we sometimes forget that this amazing resource is available due to your willingness to bear all the costs of the site. Added to the cost is all the time you donate to keeping the site relevant and free of distasteful language.

At one time the HTTPS protocol was used only by websites where money was exchanged, like banks or on-line retailers. Now any website not using HTTPS is considered a risk. The internet is great and has brought many benefits, but it also has allowed malicious actors to have a global playing field for their crimes.
