ICON Pro Speedometer Does Not Display KNOTS

Postby jimh » Sat Oct 14, 2017 11:19 am

On an ICON Pro Speedometer gauge which has the dial face primary graduations calibrated in units of MPH, the speed indicated by the pointer will always be shown in MPH no matter what unit is selected in the system set up.

There should be ICON Pro Speedometer gauges available (perhaps in European distribution) where the dial face primary graduations are calibrated in units of KMH (kilometers per hour), and the pointer will then show the speed in KMH, no matter what unit is selected in the system set up.

The dial pointer does not change its calibration. Also, there typically is a smaller dial face calibration with lower resolution that displays the alternative units from the primary calibration; so both MPH or KMH are shown.

There is no ICON Pro RPM gauge available with the dial face primary graduations calibrated in units of KNOTS, and therefore the dial never shows a value in KNOTS.

[I edited this from a question to an answer after conducting more research and speaking directly with the manufacturer of the gauges.]
