Evinrude Displays and Fluid Tank Levels

Postby jimh » Wed Apr 17, 2019 11:45 am

The ability of an Evinrude display to show fluid tank levels varies with the particular model.

The ICON 7.0 CTS (color touch screen) display can show up to four FUEL tank levels and up to four OIL tank levels (from the engine under-cowling tanks). The FUEL tank data should be from devices with INSTANCE 4-5-6-7. The OIL tank data should be from devices with INSTANCE 0-1-2-3. For INSTANCE 8-9-10 the sender TYPE can also be configured to be from water tanks, with further type designators fresh water, gray water, or black water.

The ICON 4.3 CTS display can show up to two FUEL tank levels and up to two OIL tank levels. The FUEL tank data should be from devices with INSTANCE 4 or 5. The OIL tank data should be from devices with INSTANCE 0 or 1.

The ICON 3.5C display can show up to two FUEL tank levels, one engine under-cowling oil tank level, and one auxiliary oil tank level. The FUEL tank data should be from devices with INSTANCE 4 or 5. The engine under-cowling OIL tank data should be from a device with INSTANCE 0. The auxiliary oil tank level data should be from a device with INSTANCE = 6.

The new NAUTILUS display can show as many as four fluid tank levels. The NAUTILUS will also show two engine under-cowling OIL tank level. The NAUTILUS can be display can be set to work with the engine INSTANCE as either 0 or 1. This means that two NAUTILUS displays can be used with twin engines. The display is configured for the engine to be either INSTANCE 0 or 1. The oil tank data will then come from the under-cowling tanks as either INSTANCE 0 or 1. The INSTANCE 0 or "primary" NAUTILUS gauge will show up to four FUEL tank levels coming from devices with INSTANCE = 4-5-6-7.
