Outrage 21 Fresh Water Tank

I have a 2002 Whaler 21 Outrage. There's a fresh water tank near the outboard engine. The cap filler for the fresh water tank is at the transom between the rear seats. There's a shower head that come out of it--but I haven't figured out how to work it yet. That pump works fine for me.

When I turn on that shower pump, is it filling that fresh water tank?

How does it drain?

If it is the same or similar to my 1999 Outrage 21 ...........

The tank is filled by way of the chrome cap in the motor well.
Fresh water tank venting seems to be minimal at best. Coupled with excessive hose that loops and venting is even further reduced. On my 21 I removed all the low spots on the vent line and shortened it up to have a gradual slope. When filling I use a 1 foot long piece of hose to get below the vent on the tank fill. This allows faster filling. If you just stick a garden hose end in the tank fill, you are filling the vent at the same time, causing the fill pipe to constantly "burp".

There should be a fresh water pump switch at the helm.
The shower nozzle is connected directly to the fresh water pump with soft hose and PEX like lines.
Button on the center of the shower head starts the water flowing as long as the pump is on.
The shower head is also designed to have a very slow leak, so if you leave your pump on, you will hear it cycling.
If new to you, there is a good chance the hoses are disconnected somewhere for winterizing.

The tank has a drain plug at the bottom rear, difficult to get to. I made an extension for mine.

Here is a pic of the extension and 1/4 turn drain.
Also in this picture is the soft hose (white) for the shower head. It is looped around and disconnected for the winter in this photo. At the bottom right of the picture you can just make out the connector from soft white hose to hard PEX style tubing that then goes directly to the pump.
