Q1: where can plans for constructing a reversible pilot seat be found?

I appreciate the info and will try to be more direct. I am look for the plans for the back of the seat RPS made after 1976.

It sounds like you are looking for the plans for the wood seat back used on the RPS that was an optional seating arrangement on the MONTAUK 17 and many OUTRAGE 18, 20, 22, and 25 models from c.1976 until c.2002.

I am not aware of a source of plans for the seat back, but you can get a nice view of it below:

From the illustration above, the necessity for accurate plans can be seen, as the seat back is quite a complex wooden component of the seat assembly. In addition to being a seat back it is also

• a storage compartment,
• a location for two rod holders,
• a location for two handles that can be used as for moving the seat position or for handholds by people standing aft of the seat, and
• the attachment point for the twin-tube pivoting mechanism on each side that accomplishes the "reversible" function.

This crafty design is typical of the thoughtful design and craftsmanship of wood components in the classic era boats.
