With sadness, 19 seasons with my 1990 Boston Whaler Revenge 22 - W.T came to an end today with a Bill of Sale. The "Kelsey J" was all a boat could be for those seasons - camping, salmon, halibut, family outings, BBQs, and just plain fooling around in a boat.

Her replacement is a 1989 Wilbur 34 Downeast cruiser with a single CAT 3208TA 375 hp diesel - hot/cold running water, shower, full galley with 3-burner stove and oven, radar, 2 GPS units, etc. We completed a 240 mile maiden voyage on her two weekends ago. Slower than the Whaler... but a bit more comfy.

Not leaving ContinuousWave... I'm still drying our the Squall.

That WILBUR 34 looks great. With 375-HP it probably can go faster than just displacement mode. But it will be a bit harder to haul around on a trailer. Congratulations on a great boat purchase.

Is that the boat from Anacortes? If so, she looks amazing. The rear curtain set is ideal for your conditions.

We went form a 42 Post down to a 17 Outrage and now a 21 Outrage. I do miss the all that the big boat has to offer, especially the comfort, cruising and vacations. All except for the expense.

The Wilbur is a 14-knot boat with a proven Downeast hull.

That's the Anacortes boat, originally from San Diego. Our shakedown cruise was Ketchikan to Juneau (3 days, 240 miles), the old owner kindly delivered to Ketchikan.

Spent many years on Dad's 42-ft Post (1977-1991). When Mom was alive the main engines got 300 hours a year, after she died (1985) the hours went to 50 per year... made the cost prohibitive but Dad sailored on for a few more years before downsizing.

The new owners just towed the Revenge away 43 minutes ago, sad to see her go down the street with a strange truck in front of her. She's off to Sitka where she came from in 1990.

From one great boat to another. Congrats.
Like Porthole said been there done that and now even got rid of the 32ft sailboat so all is left are nice trailerable, 14ft Achilles and 15' Whaler.
No regrets as we now can see more by driving to different areas instead of always being in the same surroundings at a much larger expense.
Still I envy you with such a great boat as the new one you got.

Just found the yacht listing for the boat, sure is a purty one.

Being from the Northeast we've always had a penchant for the downeast lobster style boats.
Every year as I get older I have less of a desire to do all the work, but, we still have not crossed off a trawler or downeast style for cruising. Even if all we get to do is a great circle tour once.
