15-footer Anchor Locker Interior

I am buying 1989 15-footer under a purchase agreement pending inspection. The seller mentioned that the inside of the [anchor] locker looked different than [the inside of the anchor locker on] most other Boston Whaler boat in regard to where the foam was injected. This sounded odd to me.

What should [the inside of the anchor locker of a 1989 Boston Whaler 15-footer] look like?

Thanks.

If you have a concern for the appearance of the anchor locker on the boat you are buying and want to see the appearance of the inside of the anchor locker before proceeding further, ask the seller to send you a photo image that shows the area the seller has remarked about.

Note the anchor locker on a typical 15-foot Boston Whaler is probably the location of the sprue hole. In some instances Boston Whaler may have adhered a round cap of laminated fiberglass with a gel coat finish over the sprue hole. In other instances the sprue hole was just left exposed, but with a sealed surface that was flush with the fiberglass laminate gel-coat layer.

Thanks Jim, that’s what I was looking for. Seller said the foam was exposed, every Whaler I’ve had it was sealed. [Boat] is two hours away from me and seller.

If the price is decent, go look at the boat right away. They tend to sell fast.

I have it under agreement pending seeing the boat in person.
