Finding Location for Canvas Snaps on Helm

Postby JPTL » Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:35 pm

Where do the snaps on a helm cover for a 2000 Conquest 23 attach?

BACKSTORY: the 2000 CONQUEST 23 I just bought It came a (what I think is) helm cover that looks like it was an OEM accessory. The cover has an eyelet in the middle for (what I assume is for) a support pole.

Snap-on fittings on a canvas cover attach to studs that are mounted into the hull with screw fasteners. A close visual inspection of the area that the canvas will be covering should reveal the location of the mating stud fittings fastened in place with screw fasteners. If for some reason the studs have been removed, there should be evidence of where they were located by the presence of the old holes or the old holes repaired with resin and filler.

If the cover is intended to be supported in the center by a pole, there should be a pole somewhere on the boat for that purpose.
