Identify Boston Whaler 13-foot Hull

Postby stephenpgadomski » Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:31 am

My sons-in-law want me to take their old [Boston Whaler boat] which has been under a tarp, on a trailer, in their backyard, for over 30 years. I have yet to inspect it.

An old registration says: 1980 BO/WH 104480E00000

What can I learn from this? I think that it is a 13 SPORT, built in May.

How else can I learn about this boat?

Thank you--steve g

Not much. I would presume the "1980" might refer to the last date of registration. The "BO/WH" is not any sort of recognized code or abbreviation or acronym for Boston Whaler. The "104480E00000" conveys no meaning to me.

I don't see your basis for any of that from the information you provided.

Your question is really a variation on a FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION by new owners of what they think is a Boston Whaler boat. Please read the answer at the FAQ, and, even better, read the whole FAQ.

The FAQ is a resource that is not part of the FORUM. There is an enormous amount of information collected at CONTINUOUSWAVE.COM that is not in the forum. The FAQ is located at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/FAQ/

The FAQ is in the REFERENCE section

The REFERENCE SECTION is in the WHALER section

The specific answer to your inquiry will be found in the FAQ at

Q1: How Old is My Boston Whaler boat?

More information on finding information that is part of the hull itself that will give positive identification is given in the second FAQ answer. See

You are quite welcome. Many people come to the forum and don't know of the other resources.
