Tony Wilde Crossing the Bar

Postby jimh » Thu Oct 07, 2021 1:33 pm

This morning a new post in MARKETPLACE advertised for-sale an OUTRAGE 18 once owned by Tony Wilde and named CETACEOUS. That post got me thinking anew about Tony, and when he passed away. I soon found a thread (on the old forum) begun August 12, 2013 in which Tony's great friend and boating partner, Matt, gave the sad news to the continuousWave forum. In that thread there was a link to a wonderful photograph, but unfortunately the link was slightly mis-formed. I found the target photo that was intended, and I was just amazed at the beauty of it. The image was taken by Warren T, another very great friend of Tony's in northern California. I had never see it before. The picture was just beautiful. I wanted to reprise the mention of it so others could see it, as perhaps the bad-link had prevented it. Here is the image, which I believe ought to be titled: Tony Wilde Crossing the Bar:

There are many very poignant tributes to Tony in the original thread.

Rest in peace, Tony. We had some great times with our Whalers. Thanks to Jim and ContinuousWave, which is how many of us met.

Thanks for sharing the photo, I remember it. Tony was a prince of a man, gone from us too soon.
