BoatLife Caulk Color 1173 Cameo

Postby rnln » Tue Nov 23, 2021 4:23 am

How close color match is there between BoatLife Caulk in color 1173 Cameo and the tan color on a 1987 REVENGE?

I will use the caulk on through-hull drains, the fuel tank cover, the live well cover, and their screws.

[A recommendation I heard said the color of the boat was] desert storm.

The gel coat color used on many classic-era Boston Whaler boats is called Desert Tan.

Desert Storm as a gel coat color is unknown to me.

The present day hue of the molded deck components on a 1987 boat will vary depending on the exposure to weather and sunlight and with the care given to preserving the original surface.

Desert Tan, yes. Sorry, my mind doesn't work well late at night. Thanks.
Is anyone familiar with BoatLife Caulk 1173 Cameo?
Thanks again.

It is very difficult to discuss specific color matches on a forum. The deck of your boat may be more faded than is another deck. Consider buying a small tube, not a caulking gun tube, of the caulk and check it beside your deck. If it's an acceptable match go for the caulking gun size. I don't recommend buying spare caulk for later use. I've found old unopened tubes of caulk harden.
