For a 2004 [190] NANTUCKET, what separation should be used between bunks for a boat lift?

The bunks on the trailer on which the boat sits now are about 32-inches apart.

BACKSTORY: I have recently become a 2004 Nantucket owner. As I wait for spring in Virginia I am trying to set-up my lift properly for my new boat.

Start with the bunks set at 1-1/2-feet off the center line at the transom.

I presume you are using angled 2 x 6 or 4 x 6 on the flat.

To set the bunk angle, determine the angle of the keel at the transom with a level.

I know a guy with a 190 Nanucket (190 Outrage) on a lift so if you need more details, let me know and I will reach out to him.

Thanks Phil. I am using bunks made with twin 2 x 6 lumber, so they are really 4 x 6 lumber.

That is another way of saying spaced 1-foot 4-inches from the keel centerline.

Generally with a bunk-type support for a Boston Whaler Unibond hull, the bunks should be close to the keel, but on a lift that might not give you the proper lateral stability.

I am not familiar with the 190 NANTUCKET hull. If it has the classic style vestigial runners, wide bunks are usually set just inside those hull strakes, but watch out for crushing any through-hull fittings.

Which face of the lumber bears against the hull?

Thanks Jim! The hull is pretty much identical to an Outrage I think.

If you have the original trailer you could use the measurement of the two bunks from the keel as a starting point.
