Q1: Did the location of wood in a DAUNTLESS 15 change by 1998 compared to 1994 and 1995?
Q2: what type of core was used in the transom on the starboard side of a 1998 DAUNTLESS 15?
Please confirm [that as all Boston Whale wood locating drawings indicate] there is no wood on the starboard side of the transom of a 1998 DAUNTLESS 15.
If there is no wood to fasten to [on the starboard side of the transom of a 1998 DAUNTLESS 15] I cannot install anything [on the starboard side of the ransom of a 1998 DAUNTLESS 15] that needed to carry weight.
BACKSTORY
I would like to add a boarding ladder of some sort on the starboard side of the transom of my 1998 Dauntless 15. I have a wood locating diagram that is dated 5/18/1994 and the last revision is dated 1/25/95. A diagram shows no wood in the transom in the entire starboard side of the transom.
The factory swim step option had the swim step on the port side.
On my DAUNTLESS 15 boat there is a auxiliary engine bracket mounted on the port side; there is no room left for a ladder mounting.

It is wise to mount a swim platform above the water line and through bolt where possible.

- I may troll for salmon in Puget Sound.
- Trolling puts a engine run times on the main engine.
- To get the main engine to troll slowly enough in certain situation is hard.
- [Running an auxiliary engine] saves fuel.
- [Having an auxiliary engine] is handy as a back-up engine to get you home if the main engine fails.
- The original owner installed the auxiliary engine bracket.
- The bracket was on the boat when I bought.
- I like having the bracket.
