Alaskan Squall still drying out

I've been reporting on my Squall every year since 2002. You can check the archives for more info.
It is till drying out. Aafter 20 years has lost 325-lbs! She started as a 1968 rowing model in Juneau, was dragged up and down the beach many times, and finally hung up as a mailbox. I bought her in 2002 with hopes of--something. Actually, this is slower than watching paint dry.

If the drying out is a little too successful, you could always try this:

And I've had people argue that Whalers don't absorb water.
There are plenty of 13 and 17 Whalers around me that are very heavy with significant water absorbed into the foam. The most common fail point is the brass drain tube that corrodes out in salt water.

Would the drying process be accelerated if the hull was protected from freezing during the Winter? It's possible much of the ice would sublimate over the Winter if it was exposed but I believe it would have to be exposed to the atmosphere.

The Squall went through many years of freeze/thaw cycles until I got her in 2002. Since then (20 years) she's sat between the boiler and hot water heater.

Your Boston Whaler Squall is rapidly approaching the desired original dry weight of 125 pounds.
It reminds me of a friend that said that she was trying to get back to her original weight of 6 pounds 3 ounces.

"Rapidly"? Maybe relative to the age of the universe, but 22 years is far longer than the average person owns a specific model boat.
