There are two versions of the Guardian 17.
One is based on the recreational Outrage 17 I (1990-1995).
Te second is based on Outrage 17 II (1996-1999).
While both of these Guardian models are somewhat rare. The Outrage 17 I version was not produced in large numbers.
Buyers seeking a GUARDIAN 17 will have a better chance of finding a recreational version of the Outrage 17 II. It is a fabulous boat.
The dates I have cited are for the recreational model.
The Commercial Products Division and Brunswick Commercial & Government Products Group used the recreational molds for years after it stopped being produced by Boston Whaler so the model years for a Guardian don't match its recreational cousin.

Phil--Thank you very much for that information. I was not certain what years a GUARDIAN 17 boat was produced.
I have owned several Boston Whaler Guardians--17, 19, and 22-footers--and the 17 was my favorite.
