Width of Trailer for 190 MONTAUK

Postby PacCoast81 » Mon Jul 25, 2022 1:49 am

What is the width of a trailer that could haul a 2007 190 MONTAUK?

BACKSTORY. I may purchase a 2007 190 MONTAUK. I live In the mountains and have a very narrow driveway.

The beam of a 190 MONTAUK boat is 8-feet. On that basis, I would expect that a 190 MONTAUK could be carried on a trailer that is the standard width, 8-feet 6-inches, that will not require an over-wide permit. The 8-foot 6-inch trailer width (also stated as 102-inches) is typically the maximum allowed width in most states for highway towing without need for permits for an oversize load. Generally there would not be a compelling reason to have an oversize trailer for a boat with an 8-foot beam.

To be certain of the width of the particular trailer you plan to buy, you should contact the seller of the 2007 190 MONTAUK you are planning to buy, and obtain the exact trailer model designation and the width. Having the exact model designator should permit you to verify the trailer width. There is no way to know exactly what trailer might be under the particular boat you are planning to buy.
