I just purchased a neglected 1987 Outrage [18]. I am pretty sure it hadn't moved in about five years, as I have passed it periodically at a storage facility. On May 12, 2013, on a whim, I asked the front desk for the owners number.

That 1987 OUTRAGE 18 will look much better after a good wash and scrubbing. You can probably triple your investment in a few hours of hard work.

Based on the registration number on the hull, it looks like a the 1987 OUTRAGE 18 was from Michigan.

jimh:

The boat was previously registered in Mississippi (MI).

Masbama:

It was found in coastal Alabama.

The after cleaning pictures look amazing. It's hard to believe it's the same boat.

Hah! You are so right. I forgot that the boat registration codes are much older than the postal ZIP codes, and Michigan is MC for boats and MI for postal. And that is really dumb because I live in Michigan.

That is a dreamboat OUTRAGE 18.

To get there from what you started with must have involved a lot of scrubbing.

It is hard to see the level of finish in your restoration, but seeing the boat afloat it looks a million-times better than when you bought it.

The teak wood gunwales and trim are really nice. Perhaps you can describe the method you used to bring back that wonderful, rich teak look.
