FRONTIER SERIES
The Boston Whaler Frontier models are a rare, heavy-duty line of boats produced by Boston Whaler’s commercial division during the 1980s and 1990s. Primarily built as the Frontier 25, these commercial-grade vessels are highly sought after by serious fishers, crabbers, and professional marine operators.
This boat was originally built for the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for use as a rescue and patrol boat; it even had a cameo appearance in the film “Striking Distance” starring Bruce Willis. It has always only been used in freshwater. According to Boston Whaler shipping records this boat was built in the Norwell, Massachusetts, factory and was originally shipped to Silver Street Marine in Sharon, Pennsylvania. It was then delivered to the City of Pittsburgh on 11/27/84, where it was used as an emergency response watercraft.
Noteworthy features:
The boat currently needs some TLC from a knowledgeable new owner. There are some cosmetic flaws and miscellaneous repairs to be accomplished, but it is ready to travel in the lake. The sterndrive lower unit and trailer have had significant recent mechanical repairs that cost $10,500 CAD.
[Under my ownership the FRONTIER 25] has been used on an as-needed basis to fish, sightsee, and haul supplies, guests, and luggage, to our cottage on an island in Lake Huron.
The boat is for sale because my big-boating days are over due to age limitations and estate planning. The boat will be sold “as is” and with all faults: without any express or implied warranties. Obviously, pre-sale inspections are available upon request.
