15' Montauk, Karavan Trailer seel supports for bow roller failed. Has anyone had this happen and is there any corrections after I get it welded back on?

Your question is a classic example of a post where a photo or two would be very helpful.

It's difficult for me to imagine a fresh water trailer bow roller support failing on a Karavan trailer. If power loading the boat an out-of-line impact by the bow might cause what you describe. If the boat was being towed with the winch strap loose or the tiedowns not installed a sudden severe impact caused by a bad bump or a sudden and sharp maneuver to avoid an accident could also be a cause. Did you find the bolts securing the bow roller loose? In order to have a simple failure without abundant corrosion has to be a rare occurrence.

What were the circumstances leading to the damage?

Butch, thanks. I have 29,500 miles on the trailer. I cinch the boat's pad-eye up to the roller and never allow any space. I have two tie-downs on the rear. I leave the first three inches or so of the bunk boards out of the water to center the boat. The motor is on forward idle until I have it winched up. Virtually every time, I then use the winch strap to pull the boat up to the bow roller. Does this platform allow photos? Again, many thanks, Bob
