MONTAUK 17 Tackle Center Installation

I have 1998 Montauk. While this is an older style, I believe the console is better built than the newer ones. While the Montauk has limited storage, I tried to maximize the storage area.
On the right side of the console, the fire extinguisher indent just holds the fire extinguisher, a small one at that. I have a bigger one in the console that quick to get to. I never need it in 20 years.
I did not want to “junk up” my Montauk with some cheap looking add on.
I looked at boatoutfitters.com; [the tackle center they sell] is made of marine Starboard with all stainless-steel hardware. I wanted it to fit in the fire extinguisher indent. I chose this model:

This model filled up the side nicely, but at the same time [has only] 12-inches of depth--which I wanted. The manufacturer offers custom cabinets of any size, but since they need to be engineered, they are costly. The standard stock items are the best value.
At first, I was concerned that I had too much [drawer] space but not enough box storage. The drawers are great and hold many lures, spoons, jigs, clippers, etc. I had to cut out the battery box slightly and moved the battery about four inches and [also moved] one wire. The cutout as per directions was fine. I used all SS hardware. As the fishing season approaches I try it out.
