Hi. I am restoring an old [Flying Junior] Sailboat--a small 14 footer--for my sons ). I am planning to replace the hard vinyl rub rail with a mahogany one. I had the rub rail milled out to the exact profile. Can I just glue it with perhaps 4200 adhesive?

Or, do I need to screw it and glue it?

Any [advice]?

I know the Whaler community knows their stuff on wood restoration.
