I have [newly acquired] 2007 320 OUTRAGE that I took out for the first time this year. I noticed that the toilet would not flush--no vacuum--and the HOLDING TANK FULL lamp was illuminated.

I thought it was weird that the dealer I bought from would have winter stored [the 2007 320 OUTRAGE] without first emptying the holding tank. Went to a the marina by home to empty the tank, but not much at all to came out. While at the dock I checked the HOLDING TANK FULL lamp, and--sure enough--it went out. I tried to flush: it worked. I I figured it's working and the lamp is off now. After a quick ride we went back home. As I was buttoning-up the boat, I checked again, and the HOLDING TANK FULL lamp was back, and once again I lost vacuum. Any suggestions? Thanks

There is something sticky in the tank. The tank level indicator bounced around on the ride home and became stuck again. In my experience with holding tanks, after pumping out the contents of the tank, the system should be back-flushed by introducing water at the tank outlet, partially filling the tank with water, then pumping that black water out of the tank.

Is the power for the vacuum pump wired so the HOLDING TANK FULL sensor inhibits pump operation?

Hmm. Ok, I was thinking along the same lines of a clog or something. Normally they always back wash the tank but this time they didn't for some reason so I will go back and ask them to do that and see if it breaks loose whatever is in there. Hopefully that's all there is to it. As far as the wiring, I assume there must be some wiring that doesn't allow a flush if the tank if full but I don't know that to be a fact.

Is your 320 OUTRAGE fitted with the SHORE DISCHARGE system or the MACERATOR PUMP and OVERBOARD DISCHARGE system?

It looks like the tank FULL lamp is operated by the VACUUM SWITCH / RELAY ASSEMBLY. Based on your narrative of how the system behaves on your boat, it appears there is some sort of interlock mechanism so that the pump cannot operate if the tank is at full, but this is not explicitly described in the manual. Perhaps a call to BOSTON WHALER customer service can reveal more details.
