Yamaha 90 ELTF Trim Tilt

On this 30-year-old rebuilt Yamaha 90 ELTF engine the trim tilt seals are blown. I have parts. I removed caps-- a whole story in itself--- and took size-12 nuts off both rams.
Q1: Do the rams thread into tilt bracket?
Q2: Are the ram ends threaded into the tilting bracket? (The bracket houses the king pin)
Q3: Or, are they removed by pounding them out?
