Convert 2009 Honda BF50 Tiller to Remote Control

Postby GNolan » Fri Feb 26, 2016 10:29 am

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to figure out what is needed to convert my Honda 50hp Tiller to Remote Control. Has anyone done this? Can anyone help me? I only need to know what is needed at the motor. The steering bracket and steering arm is a non concern. I would just remove the Tiller arm, unplug the wire harness and mount the steering bracket. I am assuming the wire harness plug from the control box would replace the plug from the tiller. I have not been able to understand what is needed to assemble the Shift and Throttle cables to the motor.

I am of the understanding that these motors are/were shipped from the factory without a tiller and that the tiller is a dealer installed option. Other than the cost of the Control Box, wire harness and Shift/Throttle cables, I can not believe it requires a great expense at the motor end. Any help you can share is appreciated.
