Have a 1988 17 Montauk. Are there any under RPS fuel tanks with senders for a fuel gauge?

A favorite with the Reversible Pilot Seat is the Moeller 24-gallon:

I don't recall an on-deck fuel tank design specifically for a remote fuel tank level gauge. Since most of these tanks are plastic, you could easily fit an electrical sender to the tank. See

If I were designing this, I'd use a WEMA-type sender--they are very simple electrically because they just contain a bunch of microswitches that are operated by magnetic force from a floating collar. You can get WEMA-type senders in many lengths, so it would not be a problem to find one to fit a tank you already have. The WEMA sender can be configured for the typical US fuel gauge. I'd call WEMA and ask them for a recommendation for a particular type sender and length.

You could also fit a NMEA-2000 sender and then be able to read fuel tank level on a multi-function display with NMEA-2000 capability. See

There are off-the-shelf above-deck fuel tank models with a remote sender fuel gauge. Above-deck tanks have sight gauges.

One could modify the above deck tank or install a below deck tank and install a fill and vent. Either way it is a fair amount of work.

You might consider leaving it as is.
