[I recently bought a] MARINER 50-HP three-cylinder two-stroke-power-cycle outboard engine, serial number OG345021.

Is it a 1996 model?

The website does not really try to collect information about model year data from outboard engine serial number data. The website concentrates mainly on Boston Whaler boats.

MARINER engines were an alternate brand of engines sold by Mercury dealers. I recommend you contact a Mercury dealer and seek information about the model year of your MARINER outboard engine from that dealer.
